EASA Passenger Currency Calculator

FCL.060 requires 3 take-offs and 3 landings in the preceding 90 days before you can carry passengers. Enter your recent flight dates below to check.

Defaults to today. Change if you're checking for a future flight.

Flight dates (take-off and landing)

Enter the date of each flight where you performed a take-off and landing as the sole manipulator of the controls. Circuits at the same airfield each count — enter each circuit date if spread across multiple days. You only need to enter 3; add more if some may fall outside the 90-day window.

Night currency (optional)

For carrying passengers at night, FCL.060(b)(2) requires 1 night take-off and 1 night landing in the preceding 90 days. Enter the date of your most recent night flight to check this separately.

Track this automatically in your logbook

Pilot Logbook calculates your FCL.060 currency in real time from your logged flights. No manual date entry — every flight you log updates your currency status and expiry date instantly.

FCL.060 explained

What is FCL.060?

FCL.060 is the EASA regulation that sets recency requirements for pilot-in-command operations. Before you can carry passengers, you must have completed at least 3 take-offs and 3 landings as the sole manipulator of the controls in the preceding 90 calendar days, on an aircraft of the same class or type.

Same class or same type?

For single-engine piston (SEP) aircraft, any SEP counts regardless of the specific model. For aircraft requiring a type rating, the flights must be on the same type. Multi-engine piston (MEP) requires MEP experience.

Do circuits count?

Yes. Each circuit — whether a touch-and-go, full-stop, or low approach — counts as one take-off and one landing, provided you are the sole manipulator of the controls throughout. Three circuits in a single session satisfies the requirement.

Currency lapsed — what now?

Log 3 take-offs and 3 landings solo or with a safety pilot. No examiner, no formal test. Once you have 3 qualifying flights within the last 90 days, you are current again and may carry passengers.

Night currency is separate

FCL.060(b)(2) adds an additional requirement if you intend to carry passengers at night: 1 night take-off and 1 night landing in the preceding 90 days. Day currency alone is not sufficient for night passenger operations.

LAPL holders too

The FCL.060 recency requirements apply equally to LAPL holders. Whether you hold a PPL, LAPL, or CPL, the 90-day / 3 take-off-and-landing rule is the same before carrying passengers.
